Women currently comprise only 7% of all FAA commercial pilots. Ascent Aviation is looking to help increase that percentage with the Women Rising Scholarship. Individuals applying for the Scholarship should intend to become career Airplane pilots. The award of $15,000 is divided into equal amounts of $3,000 for each of the five semesters of the Professional Pilot Program.

Initial Eligibility:

  • Be a woman pursuing a career as a professional airplane pilot

  • Hold a 2nd class medical certificate before the start of the program

  • Pursuing the Professional Pilot Helicopter A.A.S. degree at Lake Superior College

Continued Eligibility Requirements:

  • Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher

  • Be an ambassador and positive role model for future aviators

  • Maintaining on track in the program per the program planner with Lake Superior College
